The final module in the Effective Instruction in Reading and Spelling course begins with how to help students develop reading comprehension to access all areas of learning. 

Participants learn about the interdependence of the components of reading comprehension and are provided with effective instructional strategies to help students develop competence in this area. Participants are also shown how to use assessment to inform their practice and tailor instruction to address specific areas of concern for their students. 

To understand the various forms of assessment, participants are exposed to a variety of formative, summative and diagnostic assessment and learn how best to utilise them in the classroom.
